Cancellation and transfers
This policy applies to workshops purchased via our website or in person. This also applies to bookings made by redeeming e-vouchers. Please note that nothing in our Cancellation and transfer policy affects your statutory rights.
1.1.We hold all our cookery workshops on specific dates. Consequently, the consumer right of cancellation does not apply to orders for these types of products. A booking can be cancelled or rescheduled for a dated event if a request is made by email within 24 hours of purchase, unless the event has already taken place. After this you are therefore not entitled to cancel any of our workshops or courses or to obtain a refund in respect of them.
1.2. You may choose to send a friend or family member to attend the workshop or course in place of the original attendee, provided that their dietary requirements suit the workshop or course that was originally booked. Substitute attendees will be subject to any age restrictions that apply so please check these on the applicable product description page on the website.
1.3. There is a 5 working day cooling off period, where a request can be made to transfer your booking to a future dated workshop. If the workshop price exceeds that paid at time of booking the difference will be payable before the transfer has been confirmed. Your transfer request must be emailed to hello@thecookery-studio.co.uk, within 5 working days of the booking confirmation being issued. After the 5 day cooling off period, we are no longer able to transfer any booking under any circumstances. This includes but is not limited to any unforeseen reasons; for example adverse weather, transport delays or cancellations, childcare issues, work related reasons, illness or injury (personal or family), self isolation reasons or bereavement.
1.4. A transfer request can only be made once in the 5 day cooling off period.
1.5. It is strongly advised you obtain appropriate travel insurance prior to placing an order for any cookery workshop or course to cover you in the event that you unable attend for any unforeseen reasons listed above but not limited to those reasons. Some banks and payment cards providers automatically provide you with travel insurance cover.
1.6. We reserve the right to cancel any workshop in the unlikely event that there are insufficient bookings, providing at least 5 days notice. In these circumstances we would offer to either transfer the booking to another workshop of the same face value or offer a full refund.
1.7 We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if due to circumstances outside of our control we were unable to deliver it. A transfer to a workshop of the same face value or a refund would be offered. The Cookery Studio cannot be held liable for any costs associated with this type of cancellation including but not limited to transport or accommodation costs.
1.8 For purchases made through a third party webstore, your contract for the purchase of products and services from them will be made directly with the relevant third party operator of the applicable webstore.

Terms for workshop attendance
3.1 For safety and insurances reasons all workshops have age restrictions. Babies and children (17 years and under) are not permitted on our adult workshops under any circumstances, unless advised on the webpage. Young people aged 14 years and over may be able to attend our daytime workshops if confident in cooking and attending with a full paying adult. Our child cookery workshops are for those aged 6-11, our teen cookery workshops are for those aged 11-17 years. Restrictions may apply with the use of certain equipment depending on the age of the child/ young person attending.
3.2 To ensure workshops run to schedule they will start at the advertised time. This is to ensure all customers who arrive on time get the most out of the workshop and to ensure it can finish on time for them and our team of staff. We will always endeavour to catch up late arrivals and help them get settled in as quickly as possible.
3.3 Workshops are designed to last the length of the advertised time. We recognise customers work at different paces and that this may result in the session finishing slightly earlier or finishing slightly later than advertised. In addition if we have a particularly small group, that this may result in the class finishing a little earlier than advertised. The Cookery Studio cannot be held responsible if the workshop over runs from the advertised time.

Catering for special diets, allergies and intolerances
4.1 We request at least 7 working days notice for any diet where certain foods or food groups are omitted out of personal choice or preference or for those with an allergy. It is unlikely we can cater for late notification of special diets, allergies and intolerances.
4.2 A reasonable supplement may be charged for preparing for a special diet, those with allergies or intolerances to cover the additional cost of ingredients, separate staff preparation time as well as any waste costs associated with the ingredients to name a few.
4.3 As The Cookery Studio has a limited number of workstations, we offer one space on each dine-in workshop for anyone attending on their own with special dietary requirements where the menu would need to be adapted. The individual would work independently for the duration of the workshop. A supplement of £15 is payable for this to cover the additional ingredient costs and additional staff time. We request that we are contacted before the booking has been made so we can advise if we have space to accommodate this.
